Basically, there are 4 kinds of positions you can apply for on a cruise ship. Firstly there’s the entertainment position. You should apply here if you have a talent for singing, dancing, acting, stand-up comedy, playing musical instruments, and more. Secondly, there is the personal care position. Jobs for this position range from hairdresser, doctor, nurse, massage therapist, yoga instructor, and other similar jobs.
Thirdly, there is the service and hospitality sector. Those in this position work in the bars and restaurants aboard the ship. They are also in charge of the stores, souvenir shops, and more. They are like the hotel staff of the ship. And last but not the least, there’s the deck and engine room position. Those who apply for this position are expected to run the entire ship and make sure it is clean and safe for passengers.
